Step-by-Step Instructions
- 1.Clear the room of furniture or move items to the center and cover them with drop cloths.
- 2.Open windows or ensure adequate ventilation to allow paint fumes to escape.
- 3.Fill any holes or gouges in the walls with spackling paste using a putty knife.
- 4.Sand the patched areas once dry until they are smooth and flush with the wall.
- 5.Apply painter's tape to trim, baseboards, and edges to protect surfaces from paint.
- 6.Stir the paint thoroughly using a stir stick to ensure even color distribution.
- 7.Cut in the edges of the walls, corners, and around trim using an angled paintbrush.
- 8.Pour paint into the tray and load the roller evenly, removing excess paint on the tray ridges.
- 9.Apply paint to the main wall surfaces using the roller in a W or vertical pattern.
- 10.Allow the first coat to dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions before applying a second coat if necessary.
- 11.Remove the painter's tape carefully while the final coat is still slightly damp to prevent peeling.
