Step-by-Step Instructions
.Turn off your central heating system and allow the radiators to cool down completely for at least one hour to prevent burns from hot water or steam.
.Locate the bleed valve, which is typically a small square-headed screw found at the top corner of the radiator.
.Place a container directly beneath the bleed valve and hold a towel against the wall to catch any escaping water or drips.
.Insert the radiator key or flat-head screwdriver into the bleed valve and turn it slowly anti-clockwise about a quarter of a turn until you hear a hissing sound.
.Keep the valve open until the hissing stops and a steady stream of water begins to emerge.
.Turn the valve clockwise immediately to close it securely once the air has been fully released.
.Wipe away any moisture from the valve area with a cloth and check your boiler pressure to ensure it remains within the recommended range.
