Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1.Remove the screen frame from the window and place it on a flat, stable work surface.
  2. 2.Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry up one end of the old rubber spline and pull it out from all four sides of the frame.
  3. 3.Remove the old screen mesh and discard it.
  4. 4.Lay the new screen mesh over the frame, ensuring it overlaps the edges by at least 2 inches on all sides.
  5. 5.Use the convex wheel of the spline roller to gently press the screen mesh into the frame channel.
  6. 6.Starting at one corner, use the concave wheel of the spline roller to push the new spline into the groove over the mesh, working your way around the entire perimeter.
  7. 7.Hold the screen taut while rolling the spline to ensure the mesh remains tight and wrinkle-free.
  8. 8.Use a sharp utility knife to trim the excess screen mesh by cutting along the outside edge of the spline, angling the blade away from the spline to avoid cutting it.
  9. 9.Reinstall the completed screen frame back into the window.
