Step-by-Step Instructions
- 1.Find a safe, level location away from traffic and turn on your hazard lights.
- 2.Engage the parking brake firmly and place wheel wedges or heavy objects in front of and behind the tires opposite the flat to prevent rolling.
- 3.Consult your owner's manual to locate the designated jack points on your vehicle frame.
- 4.Use the lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts on the flat tire by turning them counterclockwise about half a turn while the tire is still on the ground.
- 5.Position the jack under the vehicle's designated lift point and operate it to raise the car until the flat tire is completely off the ground.
- 6.Remove the loosened lug nuts completely and pull the flat tire off the wheel hub.
- 7.Align the spare tire with the lug bolts and push it firmly onto the hub.
- 8.Replace the lug nuts and tighten them by hand until they are snug against the rim.
- 9.Lower the vehicle slowly using the jack until the tire touches the ground but the full weight of the car is not yet resting on it.
- 10.Use the lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts firmly in a star pattern to ensure even pressure.
- 11.Lower the vehicle completely to the ground and remove the jack.
- 12.Perform a final check to ensure all lug nuts are tightened securely.
