1.Prepare your workspace by ensuring it is well-ventilated and free of dust.

3.Remove any existing finish from the wood surface using a paint stripper or by sanding.
4.Sand the wood with 220-grit sandpaper to smooth the surface and open the wood pores.
5.Clean the sanded surface with a tack cloth to remove all dust and debris.
6.Mix the varnish with an equal part of mineral spirits to thin it for better penetration.
7.Pour the thinned varnish into a clean container, avoiding shaking to prevent bubbles.
8.Dip the natural-bristle paintbrush into the varnish, removing excess on the container's edge.
9.Apply the first coat of varnish in thin, even strokes following the wood grain.
10.Allow the first coat to dry completely, following the manufacturer's recommended drying time.
11.Lightly sand the dried surface with 220-grit sandpaper to ensure adhesion of the next coat.
12.Clean the sanded surface with a tack cloth to remove all sanding residue.
13.Apply additional coats of varnish, allowing each to dry and sanding lightly between coats.
14.After the final coat dries, inspect the surface for any imperfections and address them as needed.
15.Dispose of any used rags or cloths safely, as they may be flammable due to varnish residues.
